To Gloria 03:13
Red across the air Like yourself - in yourself - by yourself Gone side by side Looking back - through the black - pitching time Sound of the chase Ringing loud - one for me - one for you Gloria This, how and when It should be - it will be - it can be White on the page Come again - I believe - that will do Gloria And by and far Reaching all - without words - but for you Thus if you stay Like yourself - in yourself - by yourself Gloria

"I don't mind, I don't mind them fumes at all" I don't care, I don't care about what you do Please beware, please beware of what they say I don't care, I don't care about you at all In the end, they still envy you All your dreams, all the things you do "I don't mind, I don't mind them fumes at all" I don't care, I don't care about what you do Please beware, please beware of what they say I don't care, I don't care about you at all In the end, they still envy you All your dreams, all the things you do Don't belive all the things they say I'm aware of the things you do It's okey, now that you're alone Talking sunshine, instead of holes I don't care, about the parts you pay "I don't mind at all" In the end, they still envy you All your dreams, all the things you do Don't belive all the things they say "I don't mind at all"

I've got a lost cause I've got a reason I've got 16 thousand arms Ballons and firewoo This one's got color too I've got friends who never talk I know you know I will You always do that I've got white gloves for the miss You've got a lost cause You've got a reason But only 15 thousand arms Got blackbirds on the red tile Got private and public side by side Got high noon in the morning Then in the evening you've got nothing new Got sweet teeth for the sour grape Got five more minutes untill you're late Got high noon in the morning Then in the evening you've got nothing new

Comes a time, a change of pace springs to mind What is truth as come from you, if I may Seeing things, nothing new, I wrote it down I was sober enough to see Now that I've come this far on my way Grind my teeth, stay a while, raise a smile What is left, I couldn't say if I tried I was sober enough to see What a waste of life, not to turn around Nobody does that, no one I know What a waste of mind, told what to think That might be pride to you but I don't care Clearly I see all those little things gone wrong Great war - fight for peace - headlines, I'm not applauding that How they tune for dissonance and clashing wills But I'm sober enough to see What now under the sun, heads up! but nothing changes here Besides of that I've got, I've got most everything

As I meet time, out of time, am I not myself? Do I stretch sideways, so much I forget? As I fall further toward the meeting I missed And I do stretch sideways, so much I'm stripping the walls to echo myself As if I cared about that As if it made a difference As if the world stops turning As if... as if... If you keep falling down, something must be wrong If you keep getting up again And it's no wonder you get lost But you do it again and again and again In an instant I stand eye to eye with myself And during the present and that recognizion is to be One with yourself, and one with the next one As if it really mattered As if it was important As if I cared about that As if... as if...

We're getting ten times closer There is no other The son, the cone, the dog-bitch Our sonic brother Let's get him over - the sound of heaven The bitchy outside - this is forever First step is treat; last; order Brave manic mover So true with signs of laughter Our sonic mother Start making changes - we're going nowhere Truth laying dormant - a greeting/meeting Her shiny mushroom - blaming the father Reward your history - with loosing nothing A barren wasteland - middle of nowhere Her shiny head - her shiny head In a different time, maybe You and I would be all right Along a different line of thinking, clearly Things would not be like they are Chose a different side, nearly Hope for better luck this time Turn the way you turn out, trying Be it mice or men of clay Single thought consume all walks of living This is all you know to be Let's get him over - the sound of heaven The bitchy outside - this is forever

Have you seen her? Have you told her what she's got to do? You want her to? Have you seen her? Have you told her what she's got to do? It's up to you?

Instead of circles now Ladies of opera perfect Enlarging globes from afar Seeing the earth from above Ceremonious trunks standing sparse Ominous mad dancing dark My faded hands do defend Slowly and painting these words Big as the universe Enormous eternal reel Horizon future or past Rushing at the speed of thought Oncoming meeting we sence Led by the recognizion What then's the purpose of this Keeping our eyes on this play

about

Originally released 2001 by The Music Cartel.

Enclosed in a plain brown cardboard digipack, A Single Book of Songs certainly plays the minimalist hand, at least visually. The album, however, is a well-thought-out, well-constructed document of vast dynamic range, elegant mood shifts, and superb instrumentation. Naturally, Mammoth Volume still have made their appeals to the neo-stoner rock contingent with such a disc -- that is, of course, their milieu. However, that type of volume density has been tempered here. Mammoth Volume have not contented themselves with the uncreative idolatry of ripping off Tony Iommi or Kyuss, but allowed themselves greater breadth to explore different musical textures and directions, like Jethro Tull or Pink Floyd before them. This disc often dips its ladle in some decidedly folksy, jazzy, even Eastern directions. Possibly the centerpiece of this band's catalog, certainly the most nuanced.
