Hitting that sweet spot between unpredictability and familiarity; weird but with a mighty, heavy groove. Primus meets Alice in Chains meets Clutch? But that doesn't do it justice. Great purchase.

This is rather unique, in an awesome sense. It's rock, psych, groove, prog, stoner, all rolled into one and it's amazing. Thumbs way up for Mammoth Volume!
Favorite track: A King and a Tyrant.

I have no idea where this trip started and how it's gonna end. Stoner funk? Progressive fuzz? Doom jazz? Call it whatever you want, but be sure that this musical journey will be a one-way ticket into your brain, your ears and your heart. A return is definately excluded!

Stronger and weirder than ever, the godfathers of stoner prog return with their comeback album of genre-bending heavy rock fusion. Ready to blindside the world with massive riffs, unexpected instrumentation, and angular yet irresistible hooks, Mammoth Volume's approach remains utterly unique, just as it was when this innovative foursome reigned over the early, wild west days of the online stoner rock landscape with a trio of albums that captured the imagination and affection of the entire scene. Prepare yourself for a welcome reemergence guaranteed to stun and delight fans of every sub-niche in the riff-heavy underground!

Mammoth Volume was born in the winter of 1996, called into life by the main song writing team of Nicklas and Daniel. Nicklas engaged his older brother Jorgen to take over vocal duties and with the final addition of bass player Kalle, the band was born. The band is from the town of Lysekil, Sweden....more

Color Trails is on my headphones, the eerie, lonesome guitar floating above the deep drone of the bass, the synthesizer giving voice to a counter-melody. Writing this has re-written history for me. My "Mount Rushmore" of guitarists is being re-arranged. My mind has been altered, my perception sharpened. My entire sense of the history of the heavy underground has undergone a substantial revision. Scott Spiers
